Yes. Tall, rigid pieces either come apart or go out through the window on the furniture lift – and we decide which at the survey rather than on the landing. Whatever we dismantle we reassemble at the new address the same day, and the stairwell is protected first.
Parking around Winterfeldtplatz and the Akazienkiez is impossible. What do you do?
We apply for a temporary no-parking zone directly outside the building at both addresses, well ahead of the date. Around busy squares and on market days the street is even tighter – which is exactly why this is arranged in advance rather than on the morning.
Do you move houses in Mariendorf, Marienfelde and Lichtenrade?
Yes. The south of the district is rows of houses with gardens – which usually means a cellar, a shed and garden things on top of the rooms. All of it is counted at the survey, and there is normally room to park right at the door.
Do you move within the district as well as into and out of it?
