Your movers in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg
Two Ortsteile, one local team
Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg are one district on paper and two worlds on the ground – joined by the Oberbaumbrücke over the Spree. Both share the same challenge for a move: old buildings, high floors and no lift. We move on both sides of the river, into, within and out of the district, at a fixed price and insured at €620/cbm.
Boxhagener Platz, the Simon-Dach-Straße, the Samariterviertel and the streets around Ostkreuz – walk-up Altbau flats and busy one-way streets where the van needs a reserved spot.
The Bergmannkiez, the Graefekiez, the Wrangelkiez and Kottbusser Tor – deep Hinterhäuser, tight courtyards and narrow stairwells that reward a team who has done it before.
Local knowledge
Fifth floor, no lift? That’s a normal Tuesday
Most of Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg lives in Gründerzeit Altbau: beautiful high-ceilinged flats up four or five flights with no lift in sight, reached through a courtyard, off a street where there is nowhere to stop. None of that is a problem when it is what you do every week.
- Walk-ups to the 5th floor – a furniture lift takes the heavy pieces through the window instead of the stairwell.
- No loading zone outside – we apply for a no-parking zone so the van stops at your door.
- Deep Hinterhäuser & courtyards – the long carry is planned in advance, not discovered on the day.
- Narrow, turning stairwells – furniture dismantled where it must be, rebuilt at the top.
- Shared flats & single rooms – WG and student moves are our bread and butter here.

We apply for the no-parking zone at both addresses, so the van is at the door and the carry stays short.

Frequently asked questions
FAQ – Walk-ups, parking & your Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg move
The key answers about moving in Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg with Junker Removals – and when you can reach us.
How much does a move in Friedrichshain or Kreuzberg cost?
The price depends on the size of your flat, the floor and whether there is a lift, and the access at both addresses. Because so many buildings here are walk-up Altbau, an upper-floor move may need a furniture lift, which we confirm at a short survey. You then get one fixed price with no hidden costs, usually within 24 hours.
My flat is on the fifth floor with no lift. Can you still do it?
Yes – that is the everyday reality in this district and we are set up for it. For upper floors we bring a furniture lift that takes wardrobes, sofas and boxes straight through the window, so the heavy pieces never have to go down a narrow, turning stairwell.
There is nowhere to park on my street. What happens?
We arrange it in advance. We apply for a temporary no-parking zone directly outside your building at both addresses, so the van stops at the door and the carry stays short. On the busy one-way streets around Boxhagener Platz or Kottbusser Tor, that is often what makes the day run smoothly.
Do you move within the district, and between Friedrichshain and Kreuzberg?
All of it. We move within Friedrichshain, within Kreuzberg, and across the Oberbaumbrücke between the two – as well as into the district from elsewhere and out of it to anywhere in Berlin, across Germany or abroad. It is the same local team either way.
Do you do WG and single-room moves?
Yes – and they are a big part of what we do here. Whether it is one room out of a shared flat or a whole WG moving together, you get the same fixed price, insurance and careful handling as a full apartment move.
How quickly can you move me?
Often within the same week, and at short notice when a date is free. Month-end and the summer fill up fastest, so a week or two of notice is safer. Tell us your date and we will say honestly what is still available.
Are my things insured during the move?
Yes. Your goods are insured under the statutory carrier liability at €620 per cubic metre, and delicate items are wrapped in blankets and film before they are carried. Floors and the old doorframes of a Gründerzeit stairwell are protected before the first box moves.
