Professional grade

The difference is in the cardboard

A supermarket box has one layer of corrugation. Ours have two – plus reinforced hand holes. That is why they stack without buckling, survive a lorry journey and can be used again next time, rather than collapsing halfway up the stairs with your books in them.

Retail box

Single-wall board: one fluted layer between two liners. Fine for a parcel, not for a 20-kilo load carried down four floors.

Our moving box

Double-wall board: two fluted layers, two-and-a-half times the material in the wall. Stackable, moisture-resistant and reusable.

  • Reinforced hand holes – they do not tear when the box is full
  • Standard dimensions – they stack tightly, so the lorry is used properly
  • Moisture-resistant – a rainy moving day is not a problem
  • Reusable – keep them for storage or the next move, or recycle them

The range

Everything that goes around your things

Boxes are the obvious part. What decides whether everything arrives intact is usually the material you did not think to order.

Delivered to your door, ready to fill.

Double-wall moving boxes

High load capacity, reinforced hand holes, standard dimensions so they stack tightly.

Wardrobe cartons

Reinforced, with a rail – clothes travel on their hangers and arrive without creases.

Bubble wrap & protective film

Proper thickness for shock absorption, not the thin film from a stationery shop.

Packing paper

Acid-free, so silver and polished surfaces do not tarnish in transit.

Adhesive tape & stretch film

Strong tape that actually holds a full box, and film to secure drawers and moving parts.

Floor protection fleece

Laid down before the first box moves – in both flats.

Transport blankets

For furniture edges, glass fronts and anything that must not touch anything else.

File boxes for offices

Heavy-duty boxes for records and archives, sized for shelving rather than for parcels.

How many boxes

Our rule of thumb: one box per square metre

It sounds rough and it is remarkably accurate. For a Berlin flat, count roughly one moving box per square metre of living space – then add some for the two rooms that always surprise people.

  1. 30 m² approx. 30 boxes Studio or 1-bedroom
  2. 60 m² approx. 60 boxes 2–3 rooms
  3. 90 m² approx. 90 boxes Family flat or house

A guide, not a promise. We work out the exact quantity with you before delivery, so you are neither short on the last evening nor left with twenty spare boxes.

Books need more

A shelf of books fills small boxes fast – and they must be small, or nobody will lift them. Count generously.

Kitchens need more

Crockery, glasses, pans and the drawer of implements. Kitchens routinely need twice what people estimate.

Wardrobes need their own

Hanging clothes go into wardrobe cartons, not into boxes. Count one per metre of rail.

Delivery

At your door in 24 to 48 hours

You should not have to fit twenty flat-packed boxes into a car. We bring the materials to your address in Berlin and the surrounding area, usually within 24 to 48 hours – whether you need ten boxes or a hundred.

Fragile

The right material for the awkward things

Most transport damage happens to a handful of predictable items – and almost all of it is preventable with the correct material rather than more of the wrong one.

Glasses individually wrapped and packed in a Junker Removals box
Wrapped one by one, not thrown in together.

Glassware & crockery

Wrapped individually in packing paper, then padded – never stacked directly against each other.

Electronics

Bubble wrap for shock absorption, stretch film to secure cables and moving parts.

Art, mirrors & frames

Packed flat and protected on every edge, carried by hand rather than stacked.

Silver & polished surfaces

Acid-free packing paper, so nothing tarnishes on the way.

Clothes on hangers

Straight into a wardrobe carton and out again at the other end – no folding, no creases.

Furniture edges & glass fronts

Transport blankets and film, so nothing touches anything it should not.

Rather not pack it yourself? Our team can do the packing and unpacking for you – see the packing service. And if the heavy pieces will not fit down the stairwell, that is what the furniture lift is for.

The moving boxes were incredibly sturdy, and the bubble wrap was much thicker than what I found elsewhere. Everything arrived without a scratch, because the packing material was genuinely professional.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ – Boxes, quantities & delivery

The key answers about moving material from Junker Removals – and when you can reach us.

+ Why professional moving boxes and not cheap ones from a DIY store?

Retail boxes usually lack the structural strength for heavy loads. Ours are made of double-wall corrugated board with reinforced hand holes, so they stack without collapsing and protect what is inside from being crushed. For a move, professional-grade material is the only reliable way to prevent a box failing on the stairs.

+ How many moving boxes do I actually need?

As a rule of thumb for a Berlin flat, count roughly one box per square metre of living space. Books and kitchens need more than that – both are heavier and more numerous than people expect. We work out a quantity with you based on the number of rooms and what is being packed, so you do not run out halfway through.

+ What is the best way to protect fragile items and electronics?

Different things need different material. Glassware and crockery are wrapped individually in packing paper and padded; electronics get bubble wrap for shock absorption and stretch film to secure cables and moving parts; silver and polished surfaces need acid-free paper so they do not tarnish. Clothes on hangers go straight into a wardrobe carton and come out uncreased.

+ Do you deliver the material, and how fast?

Yes. We deliver to your address in Berlin and the surrounding area, usually within 24 to 48 hours – whether you need ten boxes or a hundred. Short-notice deliveries of boxes, tape and film are possible too, so you can start packing straight away instead of fetching bulky material yourself.

+ Is the material reusable?

Yes – and that is part of the point of buying proper material. Because the boxes are industrial-grade they survive several moves, so they can be kept for storage afterwards or used again next time, and recycled at the end. Considerably less waste than single-use boxes.

+ What does the material cost?

You receive a written fixed price for the whole material package, with delivery included and nothing added afterwards. The figure depends on the quantity and which materials you need – which is why we work the list out with you first rather than selling you a standard set.

+ Do you also supply material for offices?

Yes. Heavy-duty file boxes for records and archives, sized for shelving rather than for parcels, plus protective film and blankets for office furniture and equipment. Useful for a small office move as much as for a whole department.

+ Can you pack for me instead?

Yes. If you would rather not do it at all, our team packs and unpacks for you with the same material – see the packing service. Many people combine the two: we pack the kitchen and anything fragile, they do the rest.
